What you get

A full day of cat skiing begins at 7:30 a.m. (PST) and the last run of the day is between 3:00 – 3:30 p.m., depending on light conditions, such as in the shorter days in January.

Depending on snow conditions and group ability, you’ll typically get about 10-15,000′ vertical feet of skiing per day. Guests are also welcome to sit out runs and ride down in the snowcat should they wish to take a break.

Morning avalanche training happens once per group, hence the second day of skiing we can easily get another run in.

Avalanche gear including backpack, beacon, shovel and probe.

You’ll get two ACMG guides and one tail guide per group.

Heated snowcat ride.

A very special tradition of ours: an afternoon stop at our pizza shack on the mountain!

What you’ll need

Just like going to the ski hill, bring all the same gear you’ll normally take for downhill skiing. Make sure you have enough insulating layers and a helmet is recommended.

Please bring a lunch and snacks you’ll need throughout the day.

We usually have a break for pizza in the afternoon.

How to get more skiing out of your day

To get the optimum ski day, please do not be late in the morning. We meet at the clubhouse at 7:30 a.m., and aim to be out the door by 9 a.m.

Please note: the location given by Google Maps is incorrect, we are located in Tete Jaune.

Please be aware that you should have a vehicle that will be able to make it to staging, which is a 17 km drive on a forestry road. Make sure you have enough gas for the round trip.

About Valemount

The Village of Valemount offers year round recreation opportunities. In addition to cat and backcountry skiing, this village is a major snowmobiling hub, and in the summer, and incredible place for mountain biking.

Owner Terry Cinnamon is proud to also run two other businesses in this beautiful area (open in summer) including Mount Robson Whitewater Rafting, and Mount Robson Lodge and Robson Shadows Campground.

Our staging area is located in the historic unincorporated rural area of Tete Jaune Cache, on the Fraser River. It has a population of about 500 people. There are no services in the area, but Valemount is only a short 19 km drive south on highway 5.
